I’m from a respectable, content family
happy as we are
happy however we end up
From a small beach town named Manasquan,
fewer than 6,000 people,more than enough happy memories
From Manasquan Elementary School,
kindergarten to 8th grade
from unadventurous to “where can I go next?”
boring to mature
smart to smarter
and only smarter can I get
a leader unknown
to a leader through example
From High Technology High School
freshman to senior
from risk-free to “that was worth it”
mature to sophisticated
smarter to nerdy
and only nerdier can I get
a leader without direction
to a leader with intention
I’m from beach trips and kayaking
sunburn, sand forts, sharks' teeth and seashells
I’m from tropical Bermuda
to snowy ski trips in Vermont
and several stops in Boston, Florida, Canada, and elsewhere
I’m from hockey, soccer, baseball, tennis and basketball,
while touching on volleyball, frisbee, and Kan Jam
I’m no longer from the Yankees,
but Am now from the Rangers and the Premier League
I’m from math and science,
developed into engineering and technology
chemistry and physics,
calculus and statistics
I’m from potential to accomplishment
and still more to come
